The Holocaust Slide Show

We are nearing the end of the Holocaust unit and have learned a great deal. The Holocaust, as we have seen, was a horrific and eye opening part of history. It is a prime example of why history and learning about history is important. It is events like this that we, as a world nation, must ensure never happen again.

As we come to a close on these dark and silent years, I want you all to watch the video slideshow posted below. After, you must write a 2-3 page reflection paper on your thoughts, ideas and feelings about the slideshow incorporating all that you have learned. You must be sure to include the importance of learning history, why we study the Holocaust and what the H0locaust signifies.

In Flander's Fields

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
